This C&C 29 was built in 1977 by C&C Yachts Manufacturing in its Newport, RI factory.
It was purchased new by its current owner in 1978.
Its specifications are: LOA 29'7"; LWL 23' 7"; Draft 5' 3"; Beam (Max) 10' 5"; Displacement 7,500 lbs;
Sail Area (100% fore triangle) 430 sq. ft.
It is a sloop (main and jib) with a high aspect ratio
which is very sensitive to proper selection and trim of the sails.
The hull and decks are fiberglass. It has a deep fin keel (lead) and spade rudder.
The single mast is stepped on the keel. It has a twin groove headstay and twin jib
halyards to facilitate headsail changes when racing or cruising. It is outfitted to carry a
spinnaker on offwind legs.
The engine is a water cooled (open loop system) Yanmar diesel inboard driving
a twin-bladed Martec folding propeller.
There is a 20 gallon fuel tank, a 30 gallon water tank ,and head discharging into onboard holding tank.
Navigation and communcations gear includes: knot/log meter, fathometer, apparent wind indicator,
GPS, and a VHF radio with AIS receiver.
The cabin contains enough space to sleep 4 comfortably and as many as 6 if there are two sets of
partners who do not mind sharing close quarters.
